| Welcome to WATERBORNE TP |
|
The European Technology Platform WATERBORNE is a
forum where all stakeholders from the waterborne (sea & inland)
sector define and share a common medium and long term vision, Vision
2020, driving the innovation efforts, and also define and share
a Strategic
Research Agenda (SRA) describing the RDI initiatives necessary
to materialise the vision. (more

|
Process
|
|
|
|
Consensus based, the WATERBORNE TP assembles
the views of thousands of stakeholders (e.g. companies, institutes) of
the waterborne sector represented through their relevant European Associations,
constituting the Support Group, in constant dialogue with the interested
Commission services. The relevant national governmental institutions, constituting
the Mirror Group of EU members states send their rapporteurs to the Support
Group. Organisations/Participants
The two Groups usually meet on similar dates and open the dialogue during
regular joint (plenary) meetings (see
schedule of meetings). These Groups prepare the decisions
and policy proposals for and report to the General
Assembly which approves or rejects the proposals and which is composed
of high level representatives from the industry, the member states governments
and the Commission.
The Support Group creates temporary
technical/thematical Working Groups gathering to prepare and discuss
specific issues for the Vision 2020 or of the SRA.

Brussels, 2008-February-20 The ETP WATERBORNE announces that the WATERBORNE Implementation Route Map (WIRM) 2007 has been published on the website
The complete document can be found on the Public Part of the website and is available for download using the following link. http://www.waterborne-tp.org/bal_ims_controler.php?menu=MzQ3bG9kPjc9Mj9qM2pmNw===&page=1&reset=search
The WATERBORNE Implementation Route Map 2007 is the third document of the series of three key WATERBORNE documents. The first described the Vision 2020 strategic targets and this was followed by the WATERBORNE Strategic Research Agenda. The latest document which will be a living document subject to periodic review and updating describes the route to the delivery of the Strategic Research Agenda for the maritime transport sector and will lead to the achievement of the long term Vision 2020 targets.
The WATERBORNE Implementation Route Map is a working document which will be updated on a yearly basis. It is a unique communication tool on Research, Development and Innovation topics which has been developed and agreed between all of the waterborne stakeholders. The WATERBORNE Implementation Route Map informs the WATERBORNE research community and allows them to gather feedback for future input. It also provides a prime reference for the research policy makers and the funding programme managers at European and national levels who are dealing with maritime transport and inland navigation.
This document is a key contribution towards the achievement of the knowledge economy and the excellence in the Waterborne Community.
